Biography
Rock Oakeson received his Bachelor of Music from Brigham Young University, and his Master of Music from the University of North Texas. He has performed all over the U.S. as soloist, appeared on nationwide PBS television in 1973 (soloist for a tribute to George Gershwin), and has been teaching and performing for over 30 years. Right now he has students as young as 6 years, and as old as 84. He currently has many openings available.
Credentials
Rock Oakeson is also a member of both the Utah and National Music Teachers Associations. He publishes his compositions with Alcove Music Publications in King, North Carolina, serves as pianist for the Salt Lake Men's Choir, and as substitute organist at both All Saints Episcopal Church and First Baptist Church, both in Salt Lake City.
Student Requirements
Student must be eager to learn and work on improvement daily. It isn't how long one practices as much as it is the quality one puts into the practice time.
